Grand Master's Message
Last evening, MWPGM Marshall Robinson was made an honorary member of Trumbull Lodge #22. MWPGM Robinson has been a great friend and brother to the Lodge, assisting in many Master Mason Degrees over the years. The Lodge is very fond of him. Presenting the honorary membership is WM Chad Killeen. WB Amos Brooks was in office when the unanimous vote was taken, so much credit goes to WB Brooks for his leadership in 2023. Welcome and congratulations to MWPGM Robinson!

Freemasonry is a wonderful fraternity. Although Freemasonry is believed to be the oldest surviving fraternal organization in the world, the exact date of its founding is uncertain. Somewhere between 1390 and 1717 lodges of stone masons began to accept men who did not work in the building trade. Eventually lodges were composed of men from different occupations and the foundation of a fraternal Masonic Order emerged. The first Grand Lodge was founded in England in 1717 and quickly spread around the world. The first Lodge in Connecticut was founded in 1750 and has been in continuous operation for 273 years.
Today Freemasonry is an organization of men from all walks of life who have banded together for mutual improvement. Freemasonry does require that its members believe in God and in life after death, though no one is asked to expound upon the particulars of their understanding of those beliefs. We seek not to be better than others, but to help each other grow spiritually, morally, and intellectually.
Freemasonry and its Masonic Family contribute millions of dollars to charitable causes, annually. Masons also donate their time to the needs of others who have met with misfortune. You will find Masons working in soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and numerous other areas that serve our communities. The spectrum of residential and health care services provided through our great Connecticut institution, Masonicare, is a model of eldercare which is second to none.
